ASRock Industrial will partner with the 5G Smart Pole Standard Promotion Alliance to jointly deploy 5G smart poles as core infrastructure and fundamental “core” in smart city developments. Along with strong support from the Taiwanese government, many reputable Taiwanese manufacturers and telecom operators such as Pegatron Corporation, Foxconn Technology, Chunghwa Telecom, Compal Electronics, Delta Electronics, etc. have all joined the alliance.

The partnership aims to set the leading technology standard for 5G smart poles and jointly create new business opportunities in global markets. As a member of the alliance, ASRock Industrial’s iEPF-9000S Series Robust Edge AIoT Platform will power 5G smart poles, and act as an edge computing server for AI smart traffic enforcement and smart pole information security. Together we will deploy 5G smart poles for safer and smarter cities.

Today there are approximately 360 million street lamps in the world, of which only 2% (7.2 million) are smart poles, leading to an incredible potential for large-scale transformation.
