Money Robbery Korea
Money Robbery: Korea – Joint Economic Area is an adaptation of the Spanish TV drama La Casa De Papel, popularly recognized as Money Heist and follows the storyline and characters of the original series. It debuted on Netflix on June 24. It was one of the most talked-about series this season prior to its release.
The Korean version of Money Heist, like the original, has received much acclaim and is gaining popularity. The mastermind of the heist, also known as our beloved professor, is a cast member and is responsible for planning the entire heist. The cast includes Lee Kyu-ho, Yoo Ji-Tae, Jeon Jong-seo, Park Hae-soo, Lee Won-jong, Kim Ji-hoon, Jang Yoon-Ju, Lee Hyun-woo and Kim Ji-hun.

Do you remember Park Hae-soo?

In Squid Game he played the main character Cho Sang-woo aka 218. In Korean Money Heist he is seen as Berlin. So if you missed Squid Game, you’re in for a treat. The series has all the basic elements for a successful K-Drama. It has a great cast and an engaging plot and my favorite aspect is that it has DNA. The song DNA of BTS Band.
Each character in Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 1 has a different background and the famous Dali mask has been replaced by Hahoetal Mask. The Hahoetal masks are traditional Korean masks that depict ancestral rites or drive out evil spirits.

At a media press conference, when asked about the mask, Park Hae-Soo stated: “In Spain, the Dali mask was used to broadcast the message of freedom, and in Korea we used the Hahoe mask from the Andong area, and the Hahoe mask has some meaning. It embodies the criticism of the powerful, and it also has a sense of humor. And when the mask was first brought to me, I felt this sense of overwhelming power when The mask is worn by every cast member.”
He concluded his statement: “It has different angles from the center and also from the side. I mean, the look that the mask portrays from different angles may seem very different, so that’s something I was intrigued by.”
The hype around Money Heist and his spin-off Korean Money Heist got people talking.

Kim Hong-sun directed Money Heist Korea, written by Ryu Yong-Jae, Kim Hwan-Chae and Choe Sung-jun. Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area Part 1 is currently streaming on Netflix.
Like many others, I wasn’t sure if they could adequately compensate for the original cash grab, but I’m happy to report that they exceeded my expectations and how!
