Looks like a multivitamin? Apple
For a lot of people, AirPods are a necessary accessory.
They place them whenever they leave a building, or even before. They don’t want to be out on the street and really hear what’s going on.
Why, 17% of people claim they keep them on while having sex.
Since their launch, there have also been several stories of people falling asleep with them and discovering that they accidentally swallowed one.
One can, of course, be forgiven for such mishaps. Yet the stories are sometimes difficult to grasp.
For example, British TV presenter Kirstie Allsopp described her own AirPod swallowing experience and some may find it disturbing.
She revealed on Twitter: “Other news, I just swallowed an AirPod while taking my vitamins, I don’t recommend it. I was able to toss it back up without going to the hospital, but my throat is really quite sore.”
I found myself imagining how to confuse an AirPod with a vitamin pill. Second, how did an AirPod appear in someone’s hand at the same time as a vitamin pill?
Helpfully, Allsopp offered more: “AirPods in bag, vitamins in bag while drinking glass of water, vitamins thrown in mouth, water swallowed, go for second batch, see AirPod in hand, check bag, check the handbag. Realize there’s only one place it could be.”
Some may have concerns here. Allsopp keeps her AirPods in her pocket. Agree. But then she felt the need to put her vitamins in her pocket while having a glass of water?
Please forgive me, but wouldn’t several people choose to hold their pills in their hand and get a glass of water at the same time? Or do they put the pills on a surface before grabbing a glass of water?
Essentially, I guess, why put something in your pocket before you know you’re going to put that thing in your mouth?
I realize that different people have different views on hygiene. Some have a five-second rule when dropping food on the floor, while others don’t bother to count the time.
However, I hear a certain “eww” coming from the stands.
Allsopp, however, wanted to be understood. She posted an image which, she emphasized, showed how very easy it is to mistake an AirPod for a vitamin. Please be the judge.
“Not as crazy as some might say,” she declared.
“Not so bad if you put vitamins in your pocket just before you swallow them,” I hear you reply.
And no, I don’t believe I would reach into my pocket and swallow an AirPod lurking in my pocket’s vitamin stash.
Are we also to believe that Allsopp takes so many vitamins at once?
Oh, I only wrote about this to give a short cautionary tale. So please don’t store your AirPods with any pills you plan to take soon or in the near future.
It may also not be a good idea to keep your AirPods in your pocket.
You put a lot of very different and not always clean things in your pocket, don’t you?
