The Samsung Gaming Hub coming to all 2022 Samsung Smart Televisions, eliminating the need for additional hardware and downloads to play games. The Hub is an all-in-one game streaming and discovery platform, featuring titles from Xbox, Nvidia GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Utomik.

During Summer Games Fest 2022 our very own Dean Takahashi looked at the Samsung Gaming Hub. As part of his research, he played a few games, including some Halo Infinite multiplayer that ran fine and looked crisp and clean.

The big news of the day, however, is that: Amazon Luna joins to be available for the service. Samsung seems to be directly fighting the stratification of streaming services here. It’s almost unbelievable to see all these competitors under one roof, but is great for gamers.

But maybe you don’t just want to play games. You may enjoy watching other people play games. In that case, the Samsung Gaming Hub will also be easy to integrate with Twitch, Youtube and Spotify.

The Hub will be available at launch on the 2022 Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, QLEDs and 2022 Smart Monitor Series.

“The Samsung Gaming Hub combines Samsung’s leadership in streaming technology with our experience in creating the industry’s most advanced hardware, removing barriers to entry so people can just play,” said Samsung CEO Won-Jin Lee. in a statement to GamesBeat. “With growing partnerships with leading game streaming services and expert curated recommendations, players can easily browse and discover games from the widest selection available, regardless of platform.”

Who needs a console anymore?

It’s not quite the console killer it could be, but it’s close. Gamers not looking for a new smart device will probably survive without the Samsung Gaming Hub. But what about those who haven’t bought a console yet? Or gamers looking for a new television? Now they have a strong reason to go for Samsung.

Gamers looking for a new console and a new television? Well, suddenly they have the opportunity to save a few hundred dollars because they only need the television – at least if they are in Canada, America, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Korea or Brazil. live.

We may revisit the console killing if and when the service spreads to more devices and countries. In terms of performance, it’s already there.
