Paris30 June-2022 – In conjunction with the Wellcome Genome Campus in Cambridgeshire, UK, Atos today announces the official opening of its global Life Sciences Center of Excellence. The facility will provide on-campus scientists, and global genome and biodata institutes worldwide, early access to emerging technologies to support their research, help accelerate the process of bringing new drugs to market, and deliver tangible societal benefits.

The Atos Life Sciences Center of Excellence is an exploration, discovery and co-creation tool aimed at complementing existing Campus computing facilities with access to leading technologies, such as Quantum, High-Performance Computing, Edge Computing and AI supported through Atos’ products, services and expertise in these sectors. The facility will also feature leading technologies from Atos partners, including Arm, Intel and NetApp. First established during the Covid-19 incarceration crisis, this center provided support to researchers around the world studying many different aspects of the virus.

Atos experts around the world will work directly with scientists in genome and biological data research to turn ideas into reality, focusing specifically on enabling the implementation of precision health and accelerating the drug development using digital technologies. The goal is to create solutions that enable healthcare organizations to design efficient strategies to prevent and manage disease and to support pharmaceutical/biotech and medtech organizations in accelerating the development of targeted treatments/advanced medical devices and sensors, to tackle the biggest health problems. challenges in today’s society.

The results of the collaboration between Atos and health and life sciences stakeholders will be showcased at the Center of Excellence through innovation workshops, proof-of-concept production, demos and webinars.
