PAF launches emergency relief fund to provide direct financial support to families affected by amino acid deficiencies

New Emergency Relief Fund for Pediatric Amino Acids Established

HAMPTON, VA.July 7, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Patient Advocate Foundation (PAF), a national nonprofit that provides case management services and financial assistance to patients with chronic, debilitating and life-threatening illnesses, today announced a new Emergency Relief Fund for Pediatric Amino Acids designed to help families affected by the shortage of amino acid-based formulas. Created for patients based on amino acid formulas, this fund provides immediate financial assistance with costs associated with hospitalization or emergency room visits for a child who is dependent on these formulas for nutrition but lacks consistent access to them had because of the shortage. The fund will be open to families who meet the eligibility criteria, regardless of income, pending verification by a healthcare professional.

“We recognize the concerns, stress and unexpected costs that affect parents with children who require special formulas due to severe allergies and other health conditions.
